Preparation
Reiki is received fully clothed. Wear something comfortable that allows you to lie down and relax.
There are no strict requirements, but you may find it helpful to:
- Hydrate well and eat lightly.
- Take a few quiet moments beforehand to breathe, ground, and clarify your intention.
Please let me know if you are pregnant, have an injury, or require physical adjustments to the massage table.
For the clearest experience, avoid alcohol or recreational substances for at least 12 hours beforehand.
Is there parking available?
Yes — parking is simple, with ample free spaces, including reserved and accessible spots. The environment is low-contact and low-stimulation.
What To Expect
Each session begins with a brief, seated check-in to clarify your focus for the session.
You’ll then rest comfortably on your back for the Reiki portion.
Following the session, there is space to reflect on your experience. I may also share a brief intuitive observation.
What should I think about during a session?
You don’t need to think about anything in particular. If your mind feels busy, focus on your breath, engage your five senses, visualize receiving energy, or simply lean into the shared silence.
There is no right way to experience a session. You can remain curious about what you notice without needing to interpret or change it.
Post-Session Experience
The Reiki portion can feel trance-like, with a deep sense of relaxation. Emerging from this state can feel gradual, like waking from a nap.
Responses vary: some feel energized, while others may feel tender or tired, like after an emotional release. Extra rest, journaling, meditation, time in nature, gentle movement, or solitude may feel supportive.
Your system may crave rest or quiet integration. You may notice heightened sensitivity to stimulation or temporary changes in tolerance for caffeine, alcohol, or other substances.
Overall, it is safe to go about your day mindfully, and I’ll follow up after your initial session to check in on you.
Can Reiki support medical recovery or therapy?
Yes. Monarch Medicine works synergistically with traditional and integrative medicine.
Clients often use Reiki alongside medical treatments, physical therapy, or counseling to support recovery and manage stress, pain, or emotional fatigue.
For those who are moving through an active period of transition, a monthly session can provide space for continued balance and integration.
Can Reiki be covered by health insurance?
HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Itemized receipts are available if you’d like to submit them to your insurance or HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash and Venmo are preferred. HSA/FSA cards are also welcome.
PayPal, debit, credit, and Amex are accepted as backup payment options. To minimize processing fees, please use card payment when needed. Checks are not accepted.
What if I need to reschedule?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel. Changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a late cancellation fee.
Does Monthly Cadence require a commitment or membership?
No. Monthly Cadence is available to clients who return approximately every 4–5 weeks. There are no contracts, memberships, or long-term commitments.
Appointments scheduled within 5 weeks of a previous session are offered at the Monthly Cadence rate of $175. If more than 5 weeks pass between visits, the Single Session rate of $195 applies.
Do you offer packages?
Yes. Bi/Weekly Integration Series are available for clients seeking focused support for chronic, recurring, or more complex patterns. These 4- or 6-session series are purchased in advance and typically scheduled at a consistent weekly or bi-weekly cadence to support continuity and momentum over a defined period.
Frequency is determined collaboratively to ensure the work remains complementary to other forms of care.
Can I purchase a session as a gift?
Absolutely. Gift cards are available for any offering and can be arranged for in-person pickup or emailed.
